What a 7-Day Itinerary Covers
A typical Valley Safaris 7-day route runs Nairobi, then 3 to 4 nights in the Maasai Mara, then 2 to 3 nights in Amboseli or at Lake Naivasha on the way back to the airport.
This pacing keeps game drives calm rather than rushed. You get two full days in the Mara, enough to find a pride settled after a hunt or catch a river crossing during migration season, roughly July through October. Then you close the trip with Amboseli’s elephant herds framed against Mount Kilimanjaro, a completely different picture than the Mara’s open grassland.
What a 10-Day Itinerary Covers
Ten days opens up a third landscape. Our standard 10-day route goes Nairobi to Lake Nakuru (2 nights), then the Maasai Mara (4 nights), then Amboseli (2 nights), with a night in Nairobi at each end.
Some travelers swap Nakuru for Samburu in the north, trading flamingos and rhino sanctuaries for reticulated giraffe and Grevy’s zebra, species you won’t see in the south at all.
